Placements and marketing estimates refer to the month of November. Cattle on Feed Up 2 Percent in 7 Monthly States Cattle and calves on feed for slaughter market in the 7 States preparing monthly estimates totaled 9.07 million head, up 2 percent from a year ago but down 3 percent from December 1, 1993. Placements in feedlots during November totaled 2.00 million, 8 percent above 1994 and 6 percent above 1993. Net placements of 1.94 million for November were up 9 percent from last year and 1993. Marketings during November totaled 1.57 million, up 5 percent from 1994 and up 7 percent from 1993. This is the largest November marketings since 1978. Other disappearance during November was 61,000 head, 14 percent below 1994 and 44 percent below 1993. Cattle on Feed in 1000+ Capacity Feedlots Up 4 Percent Cattle and calves on feed December 1, 1995, for the 7 States in the feedlots with 1,000 or more head capacity totaled 8.44 million head, up 4 percent from the previous year and 1 percent above 1993.
