Cotton on hand in consuming establishments at the end of October was 522,517 bales, and the total in public storage and in compresses was 5,593,451 bales. Active consuming cotton spindles totaled 2,782,000, and the quantity of domestic cotton exported, excluding linters, was 233,600 bales.
