Cotton on hand in consuming establishments at the end of December was 551,609 bales, and the total in public storage and in compresses was 9,762,834 bales. Active consuming cotton spindles totaled 2,748,000, and the quantity of domestic cotton exported, excluding linters, was 779,500 bales.
