Hop Inventory Down 11 Percent The inventory of hops held by growers, dealers, and brewers on September 1, 1995, totaled 55.9 million pounds, an 11 percent reduction from last year and the lowest September 1 inventory since 1991. Brewers reduced their holdings from March 1 to 42.8 million pounds, or 77 percent of total stocks. This inventory represents a 9 percent decline from last year and a 6 percent drop from the amount on hand in 1993. Dealers and growers stored 13.1 million pounds on September 1, 1995, compared with 15.9 million pounds held a year ago.
