March 1 Hop Stocks Inventory Down 6 Percent The inventory of hops held by growers, dealers, and brewers on March 1, 1998, totaled 74.0 million pounds, 5 percent below March 1, 1997 and 9 percent below two years ago. Stocks held by brewers, at 50.5 million pounds, fell 5 percent from last year and 10 percent below March 1, 1996. Stocks held by growers and dealers on March 1, 1998 at 23.5 million pounds was 10 percent below the same period a year ago.
