Shelled Edible Grade Season to Date Utilization Up Slightly from Last Year Peanut Stocks in Commercial Storage Totaled 4.49 Billion Pounds Peanut stocks reported in commercial storage on November 30, 2005 totaled 4.49 billion pounds of equivalent farmer stock, compared with 3.44 billion pounds last year. This total includes 3.89 billion pounds of actual farmer stock. Shelled peanuts on hand totaled 549 million pounds of farmer stock equivalent. Roasting stock totaled 51.5 million pounds. Shelled peanut stocks totaled 413 million pounds of which 396 million pounds were edible grades and 16.7 million pounds were oil stock. Edible grade stocks by type included 92.6 million pounds of Virginias, 283 million pounds of Runners, and 20.3 million pounds of Spanish. November millings totaled 335 million pounds. Millings by type were 59.0 million pounds of Virginias, 263 million pounds of Runners, and 13.1 million pounds of Spanish. Commercial processors utilized 150 million pounds of shelled edible grade peanuts during November. Utilization by type was 78.7 million pounds for all peanut butter products, 27.2 million pounds for peanut candy, and 43.0 million pounds for snack peanuts. Crushing for oil and cake and meal totaled 35.5 million pounds during the month. Deliveries under the Government Domestic Feeding and Child Nutrition Programs amounted to 816,481 pounds of peanut butter during November. Stocks of treated seed on hand November 30, 2005 totaled 250,000 pounds, unchanged from the stocks on October 31, 2005. Of the November total, 122,000 pounds were Virginias and Valencias, 114,000 pounds were Runners, and 14,000 pounds were Spanish. Stocks estimates refer to November 30, 2005.
