United States Department of Agriculture Rice Stocks Final Estimates 1993-98 National Agricultural Statistics Service Statistical Bulletin Number 949 Rice Stocks: Final Estimates by States, 1993-1998, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Statistics Board, National Agricultural Statistics Service, Statistical Bulletin No. 949. Introduction: This bulletin presents final estimates made by the Agricultural Statistics Board (ASB) for the years 1993-1998 of rice stocks on-farm and off-farm for the six major producing States -- Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Texas. On-farm and off-farm stocks data were published during calendar years 1993-1998 in periodic ASB reports. Data included in this publication provides an historic record and a benchmark for current estimates. Procedures: Stocks revisions were considered after evaluating production revisions made by the ASB. (See Statistical Bulletin 947.) The ASB evaluated production, beginning stocks, recorded disappearance, and ending stocks to ensure that all estimates were reasonable when compared with current and historic totals. The 1993-1998 stocks were left unchanged after a full review. The 1993-1998 estimates shown herein are considered final and will not be revised in the future.
